January 2026: Can You Believe It?
I still can’t quite wrap my head around it.
Every year seems to go by faster and faster. I remember when my parents used to say that, and I’d think, yeah right. Back then, time felt endless. Summers were long, days moved slowly, and waiting for anything felt like forever.
Now here I am, saying the same thing.
So, I started to wonder, is this really an age thing? Or is something else going on? I asked my kids if they feel like time is flying, and without hesitation they said yes. That surprised me. They’re young, full of energy, and yet they feel it too.
Which made me think… Maybe it’s not just about getting older. Maybe it’s about how busy we’ve become.
We fill every minute of our days.
Appointments, work, school, practices, emails, texts, errands, social media, to-do lists that never seem to end. Even our “free time” is scheduled. We’re constantly moving, planning, and multitasking.
So, the real question is: Is this good for us?
Being busy can feel productive. It can make us feel important, needed, accomplished. And yes, structure and goals are necessary especially when you’re building a career, raising a family, or running a business. I know that firsthand.
But when we never slow down, something quietly gets lost.
We stop being present.
We rush through meals, conversations, even moments we’ve been waiting for. Days blur together, and suddenly another year is gone. That’s when time feels like it’s slipping through our fingers.
January is always a powerful month for me. It’s a pause. A reset. Not about pressure or unrealistic resolutions, but about awareness.
- How do we want this year to feel?
- Calmer or more chaos?
- More intention or more rushing?
- More connection or more checking off boxes?
In skincare, we talk a lot about consistency and rituals, and I truly believe life works the same way. Small, intentional moments matter more than big dramatic changes. A morning routine that’s actually peaceful. Taking a breath before the day starts. Giving your skin and yourself a moment of care instead of treating it like another task.
When we slow down, even just a little, time doesn’t feel so fast.
We notice things again.
We feel grounded.
We feel better in our skin and in our bodies.
As we step into 2026, I’m reminding myself (and gently reminding you) that it’s okay not to fill every minute. It’s okay to leave space. Space to rest, to reflect, to enjoy, to just be.
Because the truth is, we can’t slow time down, but we can change how we experience it.
Here’s to a year of more presence, more intention, and more moments that actually feel like moments.
Happy January. 💫
